Title: Fixing leaning platter and unstable speed
Post by: sHERO on 12 Mar 2023, 02:28 am
Wanting to solve some speed instability I inspected my Well Tempered square motor turnable and noticed that the area around the main bearing was not leveled and uniform. There was a swollen partial ridge that was tilting the platter. Anyway, I sanded it leveled.

Tomorrow, I will repaint the sanded area, reinstall the main bearing and arm, put new 5W30 in the main bearing and STP in the arm well.  The scratches around are a clear plastic Input to protect the surface fron the sanding paper.

Sanded the portion of the table top that was causing a 1.5° mislevel of the platter and the speed instability has been corrected.
With the Zeus speed controller now I am able to run the table at 33.333 +/- 0.005 or less.

If running directly from the electrical outlet without the Zeus controller, I am able to run it at 33.3 +/- 0.2.
