Greetings,

As a newbie, and very much interested in acquiring this well reviewed, integrated amp, I was wondering if the current, IDA-8, has the same internals as it did when first offered on the market?  Have their been any improvements made, or is that even possible?

Looking forward to any info on this.

No.
It is not our practice to sneak in changes to a product, unless the adjustment is to "fix" something. Way back at the beginning, IDA-8 line out (it is called subwoofer out, but still just a line out) has higher gain (6V max) but people complained and it has since been adjusted to standard 2V max.
