What Paul, no scorpion on it ? I'd think an old racer like yourself would have gone for the Abarth version, just for fun.  :thumb:

Sweet looking ride there George.  :thumb:

It's a lease.  It was either the 500, mini cooper, mazda 2 or ford fiesta.  Manhattan Fiat worked out a great deal with some of the city's chain parking garages.  I could park two blocks from where I live for an extra $99 a month. That clinched the deal.  After driving the 500 for five months I really like the car.  Around town it has nice pickup and pretty good passing grunt on the highway.  The only time it lacks power is climbing a steep hill, have to downshift a couple of gears or get out of the car and push it.  Next time, I might get the Abarth, or a cooper s, or a fiesta st, or another pocket rocket.  :thumb:

goskers, still have the stock turbo?

I have a downpipe and cobb tuner from my last car ('10 WRX) that I'm going to put on it as the dealer will not void my warranty with a Cobb stage 2 tune... but I really want a 18g or 20g ball bearing turbo!

1991 318i
The winter here was pretty tough on it.
After it warms up a bit I'll get underneath and see what's left.

You won't have to get underneath if you have a sunroof on the floor, like my '74 BMW 2002.

2014 Silver STI.

Cobb Stage 2 93 Octane @20psi
Cobb Down Pipe
Perrin Catback (screams!)
AEM Cold Air Intake
Perrin Light Weight Crank Puley
Kartboy Short Throw Shifter w/ bushings

I'll be getting bigger injectors, pump and boost solenoid soon to switch to E85.

It will be in the neighborhood of 22-23psi, 340whp and 400wtq on e85.

Best,
Matt

Hi all.
The more I look at the Fiat 500 the more I like it.
I prefer the two doors to the four doors.
But, that's a dream that will never come true.
I am not pessimistic, but realistic.
Dreams cost nothing.
Soon I will post my dream machine that I use everyday.

Hi all.
This is my daily 2 wheels ride. :thumb:
I can't afford a four wheel drive...
When you ride in Vietnam, you have to be dressed properly or accordingly.
Lots of dust, pollution and spitting up in the air by Vietnamese idiots.
You don't believe me, well,
go to your travel agency and buy a ticket for Vietnam,
once here, you will believe everything I wrote in the past few years.
Anyway.
My motorbike as they call it overhere is a Honda 1100cc
Oups, sorry, on too many zero.
It's a 110cc with automatic tranmsmission
or more exactly a variable ratio transmission.
Can reach 80K/Hr or 52 MPH.
The fuel injection electronic box is limited to 80K/Hr.
Fast enough to kill yourself or get killed.
By the way, I did not buy it, (No I did not steal it),
my wife's niece gave it to me when it had only 5,000Km.
The niece went to live in California
and did not wanted to bring it over there.
I can do a full week with a tank of gas which cost only 5 USD
to fill it to the rim.
Now, look who's laughfing?

Sweet!  :thumb:  Haven't seen those wheels on any 500 model, are they unique for the electric?

yeah they are unique to the electric. Most electric cars have a more solid rim. I guess it reduces drag and help with mileage.

I saw that you got that! awesome. a few of my friends got the leif. they love it. the EVs are surprisingly fun. I just got a rebate check back fro the state (CA) for $2500! and i have not bought gas since december. i had been driving 2 8 cylinder gas guzzlers ( s4 audi and 71 chevy truck) for years. my house is on a different pay rate from the power company too. I haven't even noticed a increase in my power bill. It was a no brainer for me. i love it.

Hi.
What's the driving range of the Fiat 500E with a fully charged battery?
Is it charged on 120V. ?
And how long does it take to fully charge it?
I am just curious to know.
Thanks.

Hey Guy,

An Elio will have a range of around 650 miles with an 8 gallon tank. 84mpg isn't bad. Okay, it's not electric. I, for one, think that's a good thing. If the point is reducing one's ecological impact, batteries aren't the best answer. I know that petrol powered vehicles aren't the answer either, but simple efficiency is critical and this vehicle is simple and efficient. One of Paul's mantras is 'no new technologies' - just applied physics. I don't know if/when these will ever be exported to your corner of the world - not even available here yet, but things are progressing. Here, in the US, the Elio will insure as a motorcycle - even more savings!

Hi Kevin.
Not the prettiest, but not really ugly either.
84mpg is approximately what I do with my 110CC Honda
and I have no weather protection, I'm only on two wheels, not three.
I got my two wheel free, gift from my wife's niece, but if I had to buy one today,
I would have probably rob a bank (5,000 USD)
I think that three wheeler will sell for 8,000 USD.
Plus radio and air conditioning option...
How many cc or HP and how about automatic transmission,
my ride has it.
Interesting, thanks.

Guy 13
By the way, who's the manufacturer and where is it made?

86 miles on a full charge.  17 hours to charge on 110 from empty to full. i have a 20 amp 220 charger that i plug into my dryer outlet and it charges in about 5 hours for a full charge

Hi guf
17 hours is a little long.
If you come back from work at 6pm and go back to work at 6am
that's only 12 hours of charging (1110V.)
I know that the battery is rarely completely empty and you don't do 12 hours shift.
Anyway, the solution is  really charging at 220V.
Thanks for the info.

Hey Guy,

I should 'fess up - 84mpg is the highway (where it'll do 100mph (but it won't get 84mpg at that speed)) rating. Realistically, the city mileage is 49/gal. Still, that isn't bad for a vehicle that'll keep you dry when it rains (and that stays upright when it isn't moving). It will be manufactured in a former Hummer factory in Louisiana - anticipated roll-out is this summer. The manufacturer is Elio (Paul's - engineer/founder) last name. It will be $6,800 with a radio and air conditioning. In case it wasn't apparent, it's a two seater (front/back). It's not fancy, but it ought to be fun to drive.

Hi Kevin.
Very interesting.
A mini or baby Hummer on three wheels. :lol:6,800 USD with radio and AC and high millage per gallon, that will be interesting t follow.
I wonder how it will compared to the fourtwo or is it the twofour?
The other important question is:
How about the after sales service network?
Where can you get it repaired?
I don't think it will be exported to Vietnam,
unless it's partially assembled here.
That's what most of the big names do, like:
Mercedes, Fiat, etc...
I wonder if they will export it to Canada
and how it would handle in our snow storm?
