variation from recommended enclosure
« on: 20 Mar 2013, 12:42 pm »
I am all ino full range DIY these days. But stuck on something. EnclosureS. I am wondering how much variation is allowed in terms of  H XW X D and volume from recommended enclosure dimensions? Does the recommendations take into account loss of volume from using padding damping materials? Hope some one can help.

I have a feeling that I read this before already.... please don't start the same thread in multiple locations ;)

Anyway - the baffle dimensions do make a difference to the acoustic response. If you are building a kit (?) then you are best to stick to the baffle dimensions given, or at least the width. If you are designing your own and doing acoustic measurements, then you can do what you want and the measurements will (should? !!) tell you how to proceed.

Sorry John,I thought posting it on eclosure page might be more helpful than in driver page. I could not find much information about change in dimensions anyway. Then find out 10 percent is reasonable.
