I watched video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65eFr2rKy3M and had a few questions.
Can you comment on doing roll-off via this active "hardware" filter / rolloff vs using a DSP (which today I am using a MiniDSP HD 2x4 and splitting out to the servo-subs)
My design is a pairing of X-MTM Encore Kit and a pair of Servo Sealed Plus Kit and Flatpack (Single)
The amp is Tube Dynaco ST120 I built. I posted to ask what input impedance was of this amp
https://dynacotubeaudio.forumotion.com/t4927-st-70-what-is-a-safe-input-vac#47791 as I am not sure how to measure that.
My design currently is using MiniDSP HD2x4 which has two RCA input, and four RCA output. I set a pairing of each X-MTM and a servo sup are paired "right" and "left" and then built out DSP with roll-off to servo sub to 1) Save amp the load of low end octave 2) To allow more quality with output db by allowing the X-MTM to focus on mid/upper range.
Question:
1) Is the quality of the signal, specifically in the above design, going to improve, by moving from "DSP' to a (once sized and properly designed and installed) "passive filter" like the one defined in the video?
As the whole kit (X-MTM + Servo Sub in the boxes etc..) are all from GR-Research.. I am hoping this question is a simple one.
Thanks
