Interesting how such cute innovative devices seem to come out of the far east or europe.
A bit pricey IMO but the BluSound Vault would probably be your best bet at a grand for mid-fi sound quality. The Sony HAP-Z1ES is probably your next better sounding solution that I'm aware of at around $2k but doesn't stream.
Years ago the Olive fascinated me for easy ripping/use of my library but the proprietary operating system turned me off.
