Which of these to start with:
Best of
Dark Dear Heart
It Happened One Night (live)

I see a lot of recs for her music.  Of the tree listed, which should be first?  I don't usually like best of's unless it is a live recording.

But, since that's not on your list, then I'd go with
It Happened One Night

Thanks Tyson, I will be checking out "Don't smoke in Bed" at a good price     Then move on to "It Happened One Night"  and "Temptation"  (BMG only has the three I listed).

IMO, "Dark Dear Heart" marks the beginning of a shift for Holly Cole to a more pop orientation. As a long-time fan, its arrival was a real disappointment.

I'd go with Tyson that "Temptation" is the one to get, though "Happened" contains a number of live tracks of songs from "Temptation."
"Best" is a good choice as well.

There are actually several Christmas CD's--"Baby, it's Cold," "Christmas Blues," and "Count Your Blessings."  "Baby" is good, including several tracks one can listen to in July.  "Count Your Blessings" is a collaboration with Jane Siberry, Victoria Williams, Mary Margaret O'hara and others--it's not something I'd recommend.

BTW, "It happened One Night" is an enhanced CD with video stuff you can play on your computer.
