North Mississippi Allstars: Hill Country Revue.  Sound quality isn't spectacular, but this album rocks as hard as any I've heard.

ecramer - Aw man! Uriah Heep Live! I forgot all about that one. Owned the vinyl (all of which are long since dumped  :duh:). Saw them live in the local hockey rink with J. Giels, and maybe Seger too? He played everywhere in the Detroit area in those days. Thanks for the memories! I need to get that on CD.

Some great stuff you guys listed here.  ELP, The Band, Bowie..I'm lovin this thread.

Finally found some folks that love Grand Funk Live.!! :thumb:  AND Rockin The Fillmore!!  Yes!  :thumb:

Some other random thoughts:
Waiting For Columbus - Little Feat
Neil Young - Time Fades Away (C'mon Neil, finally release this thing 24/96 or something; my vinyl is beat and my Ebbetts needledrop is well, a needledrop)
Wilco - Kicking Television
Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense (better with video)
Rickie Lee Jones - Naked Songs
Joni Mitchell -Shadows and Light (better with video; Jaco is king)

A couple of cheats (kinda live, but not really):

Nils Lofgren Authorized Bootleg - Back It Up Live (great version of Beggars Day)
Cowboy Junkies - Trinity Revisited

This is not the greatest quality recording but an album I can listen to straight through and get lost in it. Makes you wonder who the talent of Nirvana really was?

Taking some cues from the postings in this thread, I managed a couple sweet coups this weekend while trolling our local stoop-sale (yard sale/garage sale in any other parlance) circuit.

I grabbed up Led Zeppelin's "How the West Was Won" for $2

and Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison

also just $2. Both in original jewel cases and in mint condition. I grabbed 8 others for $2 each as well... Tis the season.

Many great albums listed here. Mentioned earlier, there is a Zappa/Mother's cut with Flo and Eddie singing, "She Painted Up Her Face", I think that was on 200 Motels.
Tonight, I'm on a Zevon run:
Stand in the Fire

And this album has the best version of Zevon's tune:'Play It All Night Long"

Isn't the term "live recording" an oxymoron?

Just a note that the Corn Sisters are Nico Case and Carolyn Mark who is a greatly under appreciated Canadian singer

Here are some of them of the top of my head.

1. Marcia Ball Live Down The Road (New Orleans Music at it's best)
2. BB King Live AT The Regal (Perhaps the best Blues album ever recorded)
3. Corn Sisters (Neko Case and Kelly Hogan) The soundstage can be spooky real.
4. Junior Wells Live At Theresa's (Best live recording of Chicago Blues)
