Getting Back into games
« on: 14 Jun 2011, 09:15 pm »
I am considering getting back into gaming. It has probably been a decade since I ventured. What should I consider in purcasing a game. Are there any good war strategy games (like the old Gettysburg etc?)

If console Best Buy has a $100 gift card with the purchase of a PS3 going on.

The really cool guys have Xbox.

In all seriousness...do a little research on the games (ign.com is a great source for game reviews) and see which console has the games you want.  I went Xbox because I wanted Halo Reach and it was only available on that platform.

I know some people have had problems with their Xbox, but mine has been fine since I bought it last fall.

Be warned...getting back into gaming can be addictive.

We have them round the clock at maanclan.com

In fact, we recently had 19 guys come from a dozen different states, and one fella from Canada come to Missouri for a three day float trip.

Here's the pic. I'm sitting in the front row, left side, white shirt.

Yea....we take our gaming seriously.  8)

Some of the guys like it due to higher alcohol content, but I think it tastes nasty.
I've not managed to get drunk enough to enjoy one yet., haha
I've got an icy cold Bud Select longneck there, and some Gentleman Jack to round things off.

I've been gaming for a long long time. I skipped this generation of consoles (the first time in my life) and haven't really regretted it. I took a look at the top 10 games on metacritic for each system. I'd recommend you do the same to figure out what interests you, if any of them at all.

I came to the conclusion that of the top games out on the consoles I could either get it on PC, I wasn't interested in the game, or I could get an equivalent that was as good on the PC.
