Hello to everyone (introduction)
« on: 9 May 2023, 06:42 pm »
Hey folks!

My name is Marko and I am a professional vocal coach based in Germany.
I have been into hifi since I was 12 years old and spent all my allowance and birthday money on CDplayer, amps, speakers etc.

For some time (basically due to working in a recording studio) I had gotten used to the sound signature of studio monitor speakers.
I eventually bought ADAM professional audio speakers for my home - stereo and home theater.

Recently, I re-discovered my audiophile joy and sold the ADAMs for some KEF LS50 Meta speakers. I had owned older generations of KEF speakers in the past and always loved the soundstage and 3dimensionality of the UniQ drivers.

In the past months, I started tuning a pair of KEF R3 speakers since I discovered how cheap the crossover parts were.

Long story short - here I am... always looking for the audiophile "holy grail"

- Marko

Welcome to the group. Glad to hear that you are getting into the "hands on" side of things - it's a very fulfilling process to learn what works for yourself empirically. Not that you shouldn't read extensively and talk about the experience of other like-minded enthusiasts. I look forward to your posts!

Yes - this is something I learnt ... always consider your ear and personal taste.
However, I also love to understand how everything works technically ... especially when it comes to acoustics and room treatments it helps A LOT to have a vague idea before you randomly buy absobers  :D
