Ok this is going to be an offshoot of 'What are you listening to right now?'.
I realize not everyone is streaming Amazon but for those that do. It occurred to me that we can now hear what another member is listening to on the fly. Because if it's available to me it should be available to you.
Of coarse not everyone is going to want to listen to what someone else likes but a least this gives a chance on those occasions that you do to actually comment on the song or album in real-time or close to real-time.
Anyway I'll give it a try and see if there is any interest.
-
First Up!
I am listening to Jean Michel Jarre- Metamorphoses. Right Now! 8)
-
Porcupine Tree- Arriving Somewhere
-
Katell Reineg - What's The Only Thing Worse Than The End Of Time?
-
Steely Dan. - Pretzel Logic
-
Katell Reineg - What's The Only Thing Worse Than The End Of Time?
Did a Search and got- What's the Only Thing Worse then the End of Time by Relient K.
-
Steely Dan. - Pretzel Logic
Found it, will give it a listen. 8)
-
The Friends Of Mr. Cairo by Jon & Vangelis
-
Alpha by Vangelis
-
Album- Blade Runner( music from the original soundtrack)- Vangelis
That was boring the only song I liked was Blade Runner. Was going on memory thought it was a better.
-
Redshift- Ether- Remastered- album
-
Atb and enigma
-
Atb and enigma
Did a Search and found 7 albums. I'm listening to 'Enigma- The Platinum Collection (ATB remix)'- 40 songs, 3 hours long
Sounds interesting, only on first song. Have a few Enigma songs in my collection, but I see a whole bunch of albums listed on Amazon HD Unlimited.
-
That's enough Enigma for now stopped at Push the Limits (ATB Remix).
-
Next up, Tangerine Dream-Poland, one of the better Tangerine Dream albums. This has the 4 tracks, Tangent was missing on a cd version.
I'm only going to play the first two tracks- 1.Poland (live) & 2. Tangent (live)
-
Eric Tobacco Road: Tobacco Road / I Have a Dream / Tobacco Road
13:21- album- Declares War 1970
-
Atomic Rooster- Heavy Soul- album, 2001, 2:21 minutes
-
Thin Lizzy- Life- album (live), 1:37 minutes, '83
-
DGM- Tragic Separation- album- 56 minutes, 2020, power rock
-
Next I am going to play Grand Funk- Caught In the Act- Remastered, 1:19 minutes, 1975
I have the cd but I want to hear how much better it sounds on Amazon, it also has all the songs T.N.U.C drum solo which was omitted on the cd but was on the vinyl double Lp. Which I recall was pretty good drum solo.
-
David Arkenstone is an artist/composer of electronic New Age music whom I discovered in the mid '90s. His music is mostly instrumental, my guess, using sound samples and real instruments. Though his music doesn't appeal to everyone I think he is a musical genius.
Amazon has a Collection of his work, I notice a few albums missing, but also several newer albums I haven't heard. Anyway I am going to listen to Frontier an album I am familiar with. When I first listen to this the beginning song would distort slightly, with a resolving system and good recording it should play clean. So this is what I'll be listening for plus I like the tunes.
David Arkenstone- Frontier- 1:04 minutes, 2001
-
Dave Mathews- Two Step- (live) The Gorge, 2004 & All Along the Watchtower- Live in Chicago- '98
-
Steve Kimock Band- Eudemonic, 1:06 minutes, 2005
-
Please feel free to chime in with what you are Streaming. Like to hear what other people listen too.
Now I'm going to try Blue Oyster Cult, this looks like a good album:
Blue Oyster Cult- Harvester of Lives 5:04 minutes, 2016
-
Was listening to my created Playlists
Ok, now Streaming Pink Floyd- Pulse- 2:27 minutes, '95
-
Next I'm going to play the Nits, a Dutch pop rock group founded in '74. I've heard a few of their songs which i like. There are however 20 albums listed and I don't know which one to play so I selected.
Nits Hits- 43 songs, 3:20 minutes, 2000
-
(https://www.audiocircle.com/image.php?id=221886)
Next: ELP- Show That Never Ends. This is one of my Desert Island albums, I've been playing the album since the mid-'70s, a Masterpiece IMO. This looks to be the re-mastered version but I won't know for sure until I play it.
WELCOME BACK MY FRIENDS TO THE SHOW THAT NEVER ENDS - LADIES AND GENTLEMEN (LIVE)
Emerson, Lake & Palmer- 1:49 minutes, 1974
Wow, that was the best I have ever heard it, a real treat!
-
Time for some Swing music.
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy- Best of/ 20th Century, 52 minutes, 2005
-
(https://www.audiocircle.com/image.php?id=221889)
A vinyl album I use to have, haven't heard it in years. Fillmore East is usually the album I play.
Ten Years After- Ssssh- re-mastered, 33 minutes, 1969
-
Have many Gary Numan albums, this one is my Go To. Mostly listened to Gary Numan in the 80's which is what my friend was listening to. Actually that is where I got my start in listening to electronic music, from him. Also he says he saw this Tour and it was one of the best light shows he had ever seen.
I'm pretty sure this is re-mastered. I recently transferred the vinyl version to digital which IMO had more depth in the details than this cd version. So I'll be listening carefully to see if this recording betters the vinyl.

-
I don't remember what happened there. I took my collection of Western themes from 3 cds but the song Ecstasy of Gold I listen to doesn't match up with any of them.
Ok, I'll Stream Neil Young- Decade, 2:25 minutes, 1977.
I don't usually listen to the whole thing just a few songs from this collection
(https://www.audiocircle.com/image.php?id=221894)
-
What to Stream today, I don't know but I'll start 'er off with 'Keep the Faith' by Bon Jovi. I prefer the live version off their blu ray album but this version too sounds incredible.
-
Rush- Exit Stage Left, 1:16 minutes, 1981
The cd version recording wasn't very good, we'll see how this compares. One of my favorite Rush songs 'Jacob's Ladder' is on this album, which isn't on the dvd, also this IMO has the best version of Xanadu.
The heavy bass gives the recording a dark sound. Bumping the bass back a notch and cranking it the recording is actually pretty good. Spirit of Radio at the start was just bad.
-
(https://www.audiocircle.com/image.php?id=221927)
Bought this cd back in the '90s to listen to while driving taxi. Achilles Stand had a bunch of skips in it. Now I'm going to play this song without the skips.
Achilles Last Stand- re-mastered
-
So we're at my friends brothers place sleeping on the floor. On the radio the DJ is playing backward masking from songs on this album. Being religious at the time I had a negative view of this albums. Now however I find the album Epic.

-
Mellowing out going to mellow out some more with Simon & Garfunkel.
-
Now that I'm all mellowed out going to try some Ram Jam. Heard the song Black Betty streamed at work and thought it was pretty good.
-
(https://www.audiocircle.com/image.php?id=221950)
Have this one in sacd but almost never played it.
-
Another Blue Oyster Cult
(https://www.audiocircle.com/image.php?id=221952)
-
Warren Zevon- Envoy
(https://www.audiocircle.com/image.php?id=221955)
-
Ultravox- Return to Eden
(https://www.audiocircle.com/image.php?id=221956)
-
(https://www.audiocircle.com/image.php?id=221964)

-
(https://www.audiocircle.com/image.php?id=221991)
-
Mike Oldfield- Tubular Bells III
I played this album to death, cd version. Didn't much care for Tubular Bells 1&2. On the track 'Far Above the Clouds' the cd recording will be over whelming at the point where the music goes from low level to high dynamic rage shift, loud. and sound distorts. I had to tweak this recording to play this passage clean.
So I want to see if Amazon's version plays this passage clean without distortion. I am of the opinion that Amazon must have the master tapes, I don't know how else they can better cd recordings that I have been listening to. An upscaling dac alone in my opinion won't do it, the recordings have to be better to start with than what I purchased on cds.

Another World- Astral Projection
IMO this is pretty good Trance, I like it anyway. Intense, fast tempo, cool sounds, so I added it to my album playlist.

The Friends Of Mr. Cairo by Jon & Vangelis
Enjoyed owning this album (and later CD). Favorite Vangelis still his obvious "Chariots of Fire" and "Blade Runner" soundtracks (took a long time to get the original soundtrack released, not sure why - but I had the LP of the first-release New American Orchestra version). Also like Donna Summer's cover of "State of Independence".

Black Swan..(Robin McAuley,Reb Beach,Matt Starr,Jeff Pilson).
Titles "Shake your World" and "Generation Mind"...there are only two titles from them so far.
Jury is still out for me on these for audio quality, but after multiples listens, they are starting to 'grow' on me. Huck

This post is a shout out to Mag, our illustrious and sometimes frustrated Music Circle facilitator. I recently tuned in to Amazon Music and it does sound pretty good to me. I like that the player sets up music I have searched and bought so my new "account" came with a nice library and have been listening to Strunz and Furrah w/ guests from Desert Guitars.
Thanks and good job!
