Manic Moose status of replacement and question.
« on: 21 Nov 2022, 03:34 pm »
This one’s for Chris Rice…
How’s OS3 coming along?
Reason I’m anxious, is because I never got an answer on how to clear my favourites list OR how to use it!! It doesn’t work! My latest software update is S2.45 2022-10-05 ans MM indicates it’s up-to-date.
It’s disturbing to have such an excellent piece of hardware be cheapened by the control software.

I agree, any anticipation on OS3 would be greatly appreciated!

Is it still scheduled to be released by end of 2022?

So, you can't highlight the playlist and hit delete? For favorites, all one has to do his it the check I believe. I know I have done it before with my BDP-3.

I’m using an iPad. There’s no delete key.
I’ve attached a screenshot from my iPad, of list I’m talking about.
When I try and play a “Favourites” selection, nothing happens.
No delete or  check!

As for the “Playlists”, I just figured out how to delete one. You have to hit save, AFTER  you load a playlist, then delete it from the dialogue box that comes up. NOT intuitive in the least!!

The two at the bottom of my list don’t respond. Can’t play, can’t delete, because they don’t load!!

Getting really tired of this !

Thanks for any help

I’ve been dealing with this problem since I got my BR-20 18 months ago. To delete an album in Qobuz I have have to go into the Qobuz app and delete an album from there. If I need to delete an album from my NAS I need to get my laptop up and running and delete from there. None of this can be done in Manic Moose directly on the iPad.

Of course deleting individual tracks is a real PITA. This is a problem that for me has been ignored totally and spoils the experience for this superb product.

Furthermore, I seem to remember that we were told that Manic Moose’s replacement would be with us in the summer (though in fairness in which year was not mentioned).

Do you have this problem using a USB drive?

Not sure if this helps but on my Ipad Pro

 Go to Playlist

Swipe with your finger to the left

Remove

Thanks James, but that’s exactly the problem! It doesn’t respond At All!
Half the list will play and the other half won’t.

Also, the “favourites “ list is frozen….not able to play or delete anything on it.

Yes a couple of times. The favourites issue never was addressed.
I was hoping the playlist issue was addressed in the last firmware updates, but ….

Well mine doesn’t! And I’m trying to put it into service mode right now and it’s not working!

Mine doesn’t work either. Is this problem ever going to be resolved? Why do so many people have issues with Manic Moose? Truly great kit marred by so many operational issues. Manic Moose’s replacement has been promised for so long and it needs to be junked.

Thanks for chiming in!
I could never understand why Bryston wouldn’t just adapt a third party app for use, instead of “re-inventing the wheel”
I wonder how many people are watching this thread and haven’t spoken up with the same issues!

As I’m getting more and more frustrated with Manic Moose I’ve decided to try an App called Regelian. So far I’m finding it quite intuitive when using my own NAS. However I haven’t found a way of using Qobuz on it. If anyone can point me the way, i would be eternally grateful.

Hi Clive - Rigelian can play your Qobuz files if you use MM and put your Qobuz music in a Playlist.  You can not use Qobuz directly with Rigelian.

So your favourites in Manic Moose work fine??! You can play from the list and delete songs from it?
Are you using an iPad?
