BDP-2 Errors
« on: 17 Nov 2022, 03:25 pm »
I reported on a similar issue in Oct when my BDP-2 bonked with an Error 3.  It eventually recovered
and has been fine until today when the playback cut out and the web UI reported lost connection.
Had a look at the display: Error 4.  I powered down, waited a minute, powered up and it showed Error 3.
Powered down, unplugged and disconnected usb and ethernet cables, opened the chassis case: fuses
and all connections are fine.  Reassembled, re-connected and powered up: the usual initializing message
and now back in business.  There is nothing in the system, web or mpd logs to indicate the root cause
of failure.  The unit sits on top of my BDA-3 on a cabinet top: unconfined with maximum possible ventilation.
I'd like to know why this is happening and how to resolve the issue.  Any thoughts or support much appreciated.

I would verify all connections, and use non residue contact cleaner on the fuses and fuse holders.  Changing out the fuses can’t hurt.  Connect/disconnect serial cables as stated.
