XLR connection for the Sub amps
« on: 15 Nov 2022, 12:22 am »
How much does the XLR connections help in noise reduction/sound quality in the Rythmik amps vs. the single ended connections.  Just wondering if I should wait until they are back in production for not.  My pre-amp to sub amp run will be about 10 feet.

My system is XLR balanced.

My equipment is.
Schiit Freya+ pre amp
Schiit Vidar dual Mono amps
Schiit Bifrost II DAC
Cambridge Audio CXC CD Transport

If they are plugged into the same AC circuit as your preamp, I doubt you will notice a difference. I run 20ft RCA cable to one of my sub amps (on the same AC circuit) and have no issues. I do use balanced connections to my main amps since I believe the improvement in signal-to-noise is a lot more noticeable at higher frequencies than it is at bass frequencies.

We've run 25 foot RCA cables from our preamp to the subs at shows with no issues.
