DVR for OTA
« on: 23 Apr 2019, 08:21 pm »
Can anyone recommend a good DVR for use with an antenna?  I have been using Magnavox with great success but Funai has discontinued them. I need to add another DVR to my system and cannot find any brand I recognize.  Suggestions would be appreciated.  There has to be someone out there not subscribing to cable or satellite and using their box.

Also comments on this would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Don - I use a Tivo with an OTA antenna input.  Get one of their top of line units with at least 4 tuners and buy a lifetime subscription if the budget allows. Make sure its loaded with as big a hard drive as it will hold.

Yip, this is what we have, wifey loves it (it's installed in her woman-cave, not the man-cave, so I don't use it). But she's got the lifetime deal and a massive harddrive.
The coax from the antenna on the roof goes directly into the TiVo.
