I hope other streaming services will consider offering CD quality. I worry that in this digital consumption age, the market will eventually no longer support even CD quality.

I read the article. It doesn't necessarily mean the end of TIDAL is at hand, but who knows? I subscribed to TIDAL about 20 days ago by paying six months in advance (plus one free month for a total of 7). So far so good.

I agree based on what I've read - http://www.billboard.com/articles/business/6494341/infinite-dial-us-music-streaming-report

When I worked, the younger people always had Pandora on their phones to listen to.  I have Amazon Prime but other than a few videos besides the shipping advantages, I've not even thought about streaming my music.  I have Oppo players and/or music servers with music attached to it of CD quality and higher.  I've yet to even try network streaming via the Oppo (it's on my eventual to do list) as for the most part I have a main and back-up system with music servers.

When Tidal was first announced, I thought it was a bit pricey.  Perhaps they need to break down their service and offers segments for less - e.g. Jazz for $$, Rock for $$, R&B for $$ and all inclusive for $20.

Check the wonderful Qobuz. http://www.qobuz.com/nl-nl/plans/music-streaming-subscription.

Of course they offer regular 24 bit recordings for a competitive price, and have a huge library of cd recordings.
