Limbo isn't a movie I would recommend to just anyone. The film is securely in the "I don't know anyone I can recommend this film to" category.
Travis Hurley (Simon Baker), a detective, arrives in the remote outback town of Limbo to investigate the cold case murder of local Indigenous girl Charlotte Hayes 20 years ago. As truths begin to unfold about the events of the murder...

The people in Limbo are just as hard as the landscape

Limbo has a slow meditative pace with huge landscapes reminiscent of Kelly Reichardt’s films (First Cow, Meek's Cutoff). Simon Baker has been in films we have seen.

Ivan Sen - the director, writer and almost everything else is new to me, this is an independent film, I wouldn't be surprised it shows up at your local art house theater.

The landscape is just as unusual as the Indigenous actors. The movie was filmed in Coober Pedy, Austrailia a real place and opal capital of the world. Many films have been made there including Mad Max, Until the End of the world, Red Planet, and Pitch Black - the transport ship from the film is still there.

Coober Pedy, Australia - as far from nowhere as you can get

Limbo is one of those films you will never forget. Put it on your "must see" list. Filmed in black and white.
Currently not showing or streaming in the US, but it should be soon.
