floor plan for the room addition...

It will be a good sized room with a 10 foot (slab to rafters) ceiling. The trapezoidal shape is to allow the room to have the depth I require but still be within the size limit. It will also give the addition a less obtrusive appearance and improve the visual appeal to my neighbor. There might also be some merit from an acoustical standpoint...but we need not open that can of worms just yet!

Very nice Larry. That's going to be pretty cool!  :thumb:

I've only read a few blueprints, but what's the connect the dot's with long arcs?
I've never seen those before.

Bob

EDIT: There's nine "posts" with arc'd lines drawn between them evenly spaced in the room.

The arcs are power wires, the 'posts' are proposed light fixtures.

Very nice indeed. So the wall on the left is concrete? Is the ceiling parallel to the floor or does it slope up as the room widens? I would think that arrangement would be ideal for eliminating standing waves. By gosh, it looks like a horn! Is there a furnace/air handler in the air exchange room?  Love the strategic location of the restroom--a must for long listening sessions.  :green:

Thanks for sharing, I'm anxious to see construction photos. We'll let bpape tell you how to finish it out. I'm sure he has some ideas. Way cool!

The concrete wall on the left is a retaining wall, as that part of the room is fully underground.

The air exchange room is indeed for a heater - air conditioner. There will be an exhaust fan at the opposite side to cause the air to flow. No ducts, hopefully very quiet.

The ceiling plan is not yet finalized. I would like for the ceiling to expand upward toward the rear.

Man is this a process! I am getting calls from the various subcontractors involved, discovering oversights and omissions in the drawings, freaking out a little about the cost...it's almost like adding another house to my house!

Hang in there Larry. I feel for ya man. The wife and I built our house six years ago. Huge pain in the butt, but it'll all be good in the end.
