Modded by yours truly for 3-way active use, powered by Bryston 7B-SSTs for the bass and Quicksilver V4 tube amps for the rest.

That photo is rather bittersweet, I should imagine. Have you decided what you’re going to do in the new abode? Look at it this way: the journey is part of the fun.

I'm keeping it... albeit with less acoustic treatment and the speakers closer to the walls. I'm trying to figure out a way to house all the amps in a more discreet manner though. My bedroom is 14 x 16 with a decent wall for the setup, and I doubt I could do better without bleeding money (and I just bought the house, so I'm bleeding money enough as it is!).

I might paint the trim and audio stands too... altar makeover!

Ooooh. That is a handsome system there, Nils. Bet it plays as good as it looks. Love the bi-amping idea. In my hands a turntable and a phono pre would be added and I'd hope for more space. Shoulda had this when I had a small barn (18'X25' with a concrete floor) for a listening room. Best wishes on your new digs. NICE system.

That's good news, Nils!

I'm glad you're going to give that system a chance in the new environment. I'm very interested in how it works – can you capture the same magic? How deeply does the room influence the sound we get from our systems? I'm sorry, but I confess an intellectual curiosity. Regardless, I think you invested a great deal of thought and capital in your system and I'm honestly happy that you are planning to hang on to it – I know I'd miss the hell out of mine (and mine is simple – only have the one amp, and I'm using the stock XOs).

Replaced my Apogee Calipers recently with Duetta Signatures. Bigger soundstage, bigger sound and tonality. Punchier. All in all a very nice upgrade.

the tv is for blu-ray and dvd audio, but the system is intended for audio.

emerald physics cs 1.3's with amplification by modwright and ampzilla. i've just finished recabling with spatial computer's "quantum field" cable. not visible: a spatial computer "black hole" unit.

the system is still breaking in. it replaces a pair of apogee divas and a big hot krell monster.

due in soon: a pair of subs from nathan funk.
