Wow! As soon as I heard Billy Eilish's song "bury a friend" during the opening titles I knew this new series was going to be something special.
Episode 1 dropped last Sunday, it's freaky, mysterious and I'm not giving anything else away.

In true "True Detective" form, had trouble trying to figure out wtf was going on.
Hoping to put it together as it goes along.
And ya, I'll have to watch this episode again before 2 comes along.

If you are not aware,there have been 4 seasons of True Detective. Each season has a whole new story and cast.  Check out 1st season with McConaughey and Harroldson as the two detectives.

The first season was nothing short of being amazing, IMHO.

Night Country was a total mess . Really bad !!

I really enjoyed it

There was a supernatural element to it that really kept things interesting.

I also enjoyed Night Country.

Season One was another animal entirely - maybe the best thing I've ever seen on TV.  Certainly up there with Homeland and Sopranos.

After a disappointing sophomore effort (to me), Season Three brought the series back to the head of the pack. Season Four, while falling maybe just a bit short of One and Three, keeps the series as a whole firmly in the upper tier.

I know this - I sure am hoping that there are more seasons in the works.

There are some shows you watch because you're interested in the storyline or theme and others because of the actors. I was glued to Season 4 because of Kali's stage presence. Jodi was incredible, but that's expected.
