I'll think about this more but someone left a cake out in the rain so I gotta go deal with that. I'd ask for help but I'm alone again, naturally.

Any song by Boston should be stricken from history.  Gah their music has not aged well, at all.

There was a reality show back in the late 1990's and early 2000's similar to the Amazing Race. Contestants had to accomplish similar feats. One guy I remember failing had to endure a entire night in a room with a old spring bed without mattress and  the song Tiny Bubbles by Don Ho played over and over. That would be audio hell IMO

I don't know. How about "Old McDonald Had a Farm".

Are you kidding.  :o

For those who say most music is crap, the solution is simple, make something better. Oh, I see, not so easy is it.

That's true but it's also kind of the point. Great writers are the exception, not the norm. At this point you can only hope for a happy accident. Back to the drawing board until then.

Carly Simon ... You're so vain.

Annoying to start with and made worse by the number of times it keeps being played.

When I was a kid, we couldn’t even afford ‘sounds’. Living in our 1 room apartment in the basement of the public library we could only dream about banging on things to make sounds. We had to mime what we thought banging on things sounded like, that is on those days when we were actually strong enough to stand and wave our arms about. Miming ‘sounds’ was free.

Seconded.

But for total torture from start to finish in every possible way: "We Built This City On Rock and Roll" by Starship. The most pretentious, pompous, unadulterated crap ever recorded. Mind-boggling that it hit No. 1 in the States and elsewhere. For a modicum of justice, it also topped Rolling Stone, Blender, and GQ lists of worst song of all time.

And, we were thankful to do it!

Pachelbel's Canon

Although it was popular during the composer's lifetime in late 1600s, it was mercifully forgotten from history soon after he died. Unfortunately it was resurrected in 1968 and has now spread across the world like kudzu.

 One of my favorites.
I don't listen to "orchestral/classical" very often, but this is one I have to stop what I'm doing and close my eyes.
Love that violin and melody.
