All, right, Let me see a show of hands!

How many of you youngsters remember seeing a '57 Ford when it was NEW!!!!!!

Yeah, that's what I thought. Sometimes it's fun to be an old fart! :green:

Gene
My Dad was a Ford dealer and us privileged family members got to drive demos. I drove a new '57 like that one to high school every day. No longer a rich kid (or rich old man) but sure have fond memories of the cars. Just bought my (probably) last car and decided to forgo my favored Audis and Infinities for a Ford Fusion for old times sake. Do I get some sort of old fart prize?

Hi mjosef,
that's a strange looking motor in the trunk,
plus the battery look very big,
I wonder why it's so big ?

Okay guys... here's something that's no real "biggie," but it's lots of fun for me. I just got a photo published in the New York Times Online Edition, which may actually go to print.

Back story: The article is a feature interview with the comedian, Hannibal Buress. Maybe some of you are familiar with him... he's rather up & coming and is getting a lot of publicity lately especially for his outspoken challenges to Bill Cosby. We'll it turns out that Hannibal got his start with performing while he was in college at SIU in my restaurant and coffeehouse. He held an open mic in the backroom and began writing and trying his material here in Southern Illinois. Yesterday the NY Times called and wanted photos and some info on our place. Here's the link to the actual article, and below find a copy both of the NY Times Photo and the Original.  :thumb:  PS. This is not an endorsement of Hannibal. You may or may not like his material. Much of it is very clever... per usual, some is not my cup of tea.

Fantastic images gfroman!!! :thumb: :thumb:
The thing that makes this image great for me , is the man touching his neck, juxtaposed against the giant camel neck.

Found this photo of my system, 1979-1983. Remember building the speakers with basic tools, didn't have an electric sander, so the finish was a bit 'rough'.
Photo shows some color fade, will have to try and locate the negative.
