Near Carmel Ca.

Hey!

Bob2, you won too. I like your picture, good composition with the deadwood in front with the beach and etc behind gives it a good layers and depth.

By the way, talk about Carmel. One of the Masters of photography, Edward Weston spent years including this last years in Carmel taking many beautiful B&W photos there.

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

Thanks Bob!
Almost like an internet "meme", I think it's neat to post a photo like the person above me. When you posted the trunk/root, it instantly made me think of this particular photo.
I shot it a couple years ago in one of the "scenic overlooks" at the Grand Canyon. For the life of me, I can't recall exactly where though.
Thanks for the complements too!

Obligatory walk around downtown with the new camera tonight at dusk.
Local music venue Club Fox and The Fox, in Redwood City

First shot of window with posters is RAW file edited in Lightroom (ISO1000). second wide shot is a crop and sharpen from camera Jpeg (ISO200). Both fairly compressed on AC gallery.

Panasonic GX7 with 28mm effective prime (14mm)

Hi low.pfile
One day I would like to (Get rid) sell my small point and shoot Nikon, my Nikon D200 and my two Mamiya medium format 645E and replace all those with only one Panasonic GX7.
One nice camera that I had in my hands at a camera store three months ago,
but could not take with me without being chase by the police.
If I could sell all my dinosaurs, then I could have the necessary $$$ to buy the GX7.
Well, in the mean time, I will dream and admire the pictures you take with that little jewel.

I'll add to the driftwood series. I enjoy photographing beach scenes, especially with the dried wood. So much texture and detail, and crazy shapes:

Nah. Your old cameras have better image quality than many of the new consumer cameras. I have a Nikon D200 and it's all the camera I need.
