Here's one I took today of Jeremy Rosado, an American Idol contestant, at a local Latino Summer Festival. I made it B&W in Photoshop, then used Silver Efex Pro to do a little more to it. I think it's my favorite pic of the ones I took.

I must have missed this one.  It's got the mood down.
Was it at night with a light source to camera left, or daytime shot with high speed sync to black out the background?

It was daytime, inside an Auditorium, at a high school. It was supposed to be outside, but it started to rain and they moved it inside. The type with the pic tells how It became B&W.............. :)

Fly-over of the Space Shuttle Endeavour from the parking lot where I work. This was taken as it was circling around from NASA-Ames/Moffett Field in Mt. View, CA. It was not a great location the lot is surrounded by trees and it went almost directly over me, so most of the shots I got were of the bottom of the 747 carrier plane. This was the best of the few oblique angle shots I was able to get. I thought it was pretty neat that I caught the ventral clearance light flashing in this shot.

Very cool!  You work at Moffet Field?  I'll be out there in May.

No, but I do work just a few miles south of there in Santa Clara and we get planes from Moffett/NASA-Ames flying over us all the time.

Mount Rainier and Olympic NPs

From my trip to Mount Rainier and Olympic National Parks in early September.

I could not decide which picture of dirty snow on Mount Rainier was the best so I am posting a pic of my hiking buddy.  He is shy and likes to dress in mountain camo.

In Olympic National Park I found the end of the rainbow at Crescent Lake but could not get there fast enough.  I could actually see both ends of the rainbow because it completely framed the hill in a symmetrical arc.  Not being able to walk on water (yet) I had no place to stand and take the picture.

Nice Crescent Lake pic. I hope you found time to make it up to Hurricane Ridge or Sol Duc Hot Springs!

Thanks Russell,

I missed the hot springs.  None of the Park Rangers I talked to encouraged me to go there. I saw it marked as a resort and I translate that as "avoid".   But I did spend most of a day on Hurricane Ridge.  I hiked all the easy trails and the trail to Hurricane Hill.  Took my time and tired to "be" instead of "do".  I had just finished three+ (1300' elevation gain) hard days on Mount Rainier and was ready to take an easy day with only 700' of elevation gain/loss.  I also spent two days beach combing.  Weather was perfect for my entire trip.  :thumb:
