Title: Moved 20.7's into kitchen so window could be replaced.
Post by: Elizabeth on 19 Apr 2023, 02:40 pm
My Magnepan 20.7's sit in front of the big picture window, amp in middle.
So the window was to be replaced.
I scooted the Maggies into the kitchen as the safest place for them.
I was lucky the temp outside that day was in 80s
Week before was in 30's and week after it snowed. LOL
After a few days without music, today I got them and the amp back in place. Music!!

I can relate.  When we had our living room painted, I had to remove all the equipment.  I was having serious withdrawals by the time the painters were done, lol!  :o

That must have been a horrible experience like when you run out of cigarettes and you need a nicotine fix. Or like waiting for a cherished piece of equipment to return from being Serviced.
There are times that I need quiet time from music, I hope that's how it was for you and now you're good to go.

Hi,

I dislike as well when my system is out of action. I bet you have a great system as well. How about a photograph?

Cheers Rod

I have a pair of 20.7's and they aren't easy to move. My amp is also 100lbs. I feel your pain.

Yeah, my 135# TV, 70# amp, and 230# sub were real fun to move!

Losing my whole 20'x30' music room that I just remodeled last year to fam members who need a place for awhile. Probably a year  :(
The 1.7is with moded stands are about 55 lbs each now plus another 350 + lbs for rack and gear.
Maggies, will probably hibernate under a bed and Ill just use streamer with old Audio Monitors to survive to the withdrawl.
Last time my main rig went in storage for 20 years while kids took over house.
Moral of story, dont take your rig for granted. Love while you can, lol.

Never fun having to dismantle and move your setup for sure.

When we finished the basement (I had been using it for pool playing and audio fun already) I had to not only take down and move the audio gear, but dismantle, move and store the 3 piece slate pool table.  Good fun.

Super happy 10 years later that we did that project, but those 4-5 months sucked!

Glad you have it all back up and running Elizabeth.

I keep reading this title as Moved (to Quarantine or something).
Put your speakers back where they belong!

Hi,

I'm always worried that I'll break something, usually, an amplifier or preamplifier. I'm such a clux with my gear.... :(
