Innuos streamers and volume control

I am curious if anyone can tell me about the volume control when streaming to an Innuos player via the Sense software.

I was wondering if when volume is attenuated, are bits stripped off when the volume is turned down like a typical digital volume control?  There are solutions to bit stripping like Leedh for Lumin or analog volume control that can be controlled remotely like in the Mytek Manhattan II.

Right now I am streaming via LMS to a Mano Uktra MK2a streamer, and I2S out to my Wyred 4 Sound 10th Anniversary DAC.  I am very happy with the setup and I do not notice a difference in sound quality when using the digital volume control in LMS.  However the nerd in me knows that I am diminishing optimal performance.  I am not in line of sight to use the analog volume control on my preamp.

Since Sense is built on LMS foundation, I would think I could get similar results if I switch to a streamer like Innuos Pulse and stream using the Sense stand-alone software.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can share some insight.
