Here's a speaker that has gotten a lot of praise over the past few years in the YouTube circles for being a great budget ($90/pair) speaker.  So, I purchased them expecting something good.  But, gross.

I was really let down by these. I truly thought they may be another diamond in the rough, like the Neumi BS5 speakers I tested (same price), based on all the other reviews out there. But that didn't pan out.

If you don't mind, make sure to share the heck out of my video to every facet that you can. I'm trying to shake the review scene up; expose the salesmen who hock crap just so people will buy them through their affiliate links... but I can't do that without help.

Maybe it’s just me, but I expect so many compromises to be made in a sub $100.00 speaker, even the ‘best of the bunch’, that I’ll avoid them like the plague.

Of course you don't expect top-tier fidelity with a $90/pair of speakers.  Which I addressed in the video.  My point was two-fold:
1) The discrepancy between what I heard and measured vs the rave reviews these get online by various outlets who (I believe) are simply looking to make a buck off people by shilling crap speakers
2) The Neumi BS5 I tested last month is leaps and bounds better than this speaker.  And the Neumi is the exact same price.  The Neumi is a fine example of "bang for buck".

Good on you Erin. Yes, there are certain compromises at lower budgets but you are showing us what measures and sounds best within that budget. I respect that. Keep it up! Let capitalism do the rest. The more the truth is revealed the better informed we are.

Best,
Anand.

I can’t speak to No. 2 but I agree with you 100% on No. 1. Maybe I’m naive, but a few years ago I’d put some value in online reviews of products.  Now I don’t waste my time. I do seem to spend more time reviewing return policies of websites and buying from sites with agreeable terms.

I give you credit for trying to make a difference, I’m apathetic and just look out for myself it seems.
