That would be an interesting comparison and then I could upgrade the ONE.2 to sonicaps and see what kind of difference that made.

Donny, how about beggin' the ex for a few shekels for a new, upgradeble ONE.2?  I'll bet that the stepped POT and improved layout give your TWO a run for the money!

My thoughts on the Auricap difference are pretty well documented around here by now I think.  Love 'em.  I will add the disclaimer that I'm not exactly well traveled when it comes to listening to different caps, but given enough break in time the difference between the ONE and TWO was really easy to appreciate to my ears.

This is just like rolling tubes, everybody hears something different and a few people hear no changes at all (though this always boggles my mind).

I don't know about "beat V-cap," as both are nice in their own way.

BTW, anybody trying nice oil caps with their Virtue?  Good PIO's tend to synergize well with "digital" amps.

Hey Jon-

Are you the one who wrote this great article on caps:

http://www.enjoythemusic.com/diy/0708/capacitor2.htm ?

I've installed Mundorf M-cap Supremes (along with Virtue's cryo'd Tenor speaker hook-up wire), and the sound is fantastic. It takes the Sensation M451 to another level. I'll install the Mundorf Silver-in-Oil bypasses shortly.

Greetings!

I had second thoughts about asking this... here goes anyway.
I was thinking about upgrading the caps in my ONE.2
But, don't most input devices, CD players ect, already
have a signal path capacitor in series with the output of the device?
So, the input cap in my ONE.2 is in series with the cap in my CD player?
Both aren't necessary are they? I don't know the circuit in the ONE.2, or my CD player,
so can't be sure. Maybe someone can help me out on this?
So, how would it sound if I just put a shorting wire across the VirtueCap at the input of my ONE.2?
Wouldn't that sound mighty good? Can any capacitor sound better than a wire?
Blush,
Harold

I have no idea what would happen if you tried that. You might want to go post this over on the Lab Circle, you would probably get a quick response there.
