GR Research MTMWW Build
Pictures and measurements of my DIY Speaker Projects
GR MTMWW Frequency Response - Gated farfield response of my MTMWW using GR Research drivers, measurement taken with ARTA.
MTMWW near completion - One done, one close! I'm sooo tired of laying veneer.
MTMWW coming together - A few hours away from completion, bases and spikes used to get tweeter to ear height.
MTMWW early on - These nasty old Wharfedale cabs will work with some serious modifications. New front baffle in later pictures made from 2 laminated layers of 3/4" Baltic Birch ply. Upper chamber re-partitioned (as you can see in this shot) using 5/8" MDF. Many extra internal braces added as well - result is a solid and dad cab!
Left MTMWW in place - The left side GR MTMWW in place and breaking in. Amazingly, I managed to make it look decent. Equipment top to bottom is Squeezebox 3 on top, Yamaha RX-V2500 receiver powering surrounds and presence channels, Yamaha DVD-C750 Universal Changer, Newcastle AM-9080 125x5 amp bi-amping the fronts and running the center, Dish box and Monster Power center.
View from my seat - View from the sweet spot, thanks to a 12mm lens :)
Magnitude vs Distortion - Magnitude vs Distortion products for the Left side GR MTMWW
Distortion Percentage L - Left side absolute distortion percentage products, measured with ARTA
Distortion Percentage R - Absolute distortion products percentages for the Right side GR MTMWW
Sub 200hz Distortion - ARTA measured sub 200hz distortion products for my GR MTMWW
Individual drivers
First run through the CNC - A shot of what the CNC machine does to a sheet of void-free premium Baltic Birch ply, it turns it into art!
