Over the past few months, a few ASL Monsoons have been sold to those who have access to the Hurricanes as well. Their feedback is that unless you absolutely need the 200 watts, the Monsoons are sonically extremely close to that of the Hurricanes. The newest versions of these amps are becoming competitive contenders in the <$5k range of higher power tube mono blocs.
The EXtremes and Signatures sold through Response Audio will also have a Triode/Pentode swith installed just as the Hurricanes have. This has become a popular feature and is now standard as part of the modification.
