TAS 2014 Editor's Choice
« on: 7 Feb 2014, 04:36 pm »
The 2014 TAS Editor's Choice Awards are out and we're happy to report that the SongTowers were included for the fourth year in a row.

This is a truly exceptional design developed by Dennis Murphy with the help of Paul Kittinger.  It continues to be one of our most popular model and will probably remain so for some time to come.

While this may seem self-serving, congratulations to Dennis for his typically great crossover design and to Jim and crew for building exquisitely finished cabinets.  I feel very fortunate to have been able to contribute to such a highly recommended speaker.

That edition is still sitting in the wrapper and I haven't opened it up yet.  Very cool.

Also liked the high praise in the most recent Stereophile as well wrt Rocky Mtn. and the SS8's.

You guys are da bomb.

Wow, 4 years in a row. Congrats is in order!

While it doesn't carry as much weight, Salk is my speaker of choice too. :thumb:

Very well deserved.  It's always great to see that kind of recognition for all the attention to detail- both acoustically and visually that you've brought to the market.

Kudos to the whole team!

Four years in a row just proves that Salk hit the ball out of the park with the design of the SongTower as well as the rest of the Song series. A true world class value. Mine continue to impress me every day.

That is great, great, great!!!

Congratulations Jim, Mary, Dennis (the Mick Jagger of crossover design, and the only person who ever asked me, "Henry, you hear that distortion at about 1420 hertz, don't you?), Paul, Dave Ellis (for telling me to buy a pair of Dennis' Song Towers from Jim rather than a pair of his 1801), Frank (for his wonderful endorsements, and he also told me to buy a pair of Salk speakers), the Salk Sound customer "family" (Nuance, BRM, Greg, George, and each and every owner, past and present), the reviewers (never a negative review, IIRC), et al.

My ST's have gotten a hefty workout every day since I had to lug them up sixty-something steps up from the FedEx truck and I can say that this recognition is more than well deserved. Sometimes early in the morning I just have to touch them as I walk from the bedroom to the kitchen to squeeze a cup out of the french press. They feel so nice.................I sometimes stare. I think, during those times, "I'm going to use you so bad when I get home". They have yet to let me down.

Listening to the album "Sort of Revolution" from Fink right now. Man, it sounds like these speakers should win something!

Thanks Jim!

There is also a 1/2 page review of Salk in the standard TAS Feb 14 issue.  Page 34.  Very positive.

I just checked my Feb 2014 issue of The Absolute Sound mag, which I had put away in storage along with the March issue, and found nothing on page 34 about Salk or Salk products!?  I also checked the Mar 2014 as well as both those months in 2013, just in case you made a typo, but still nothing on page 34s about Salk.  Color me confused. :?  What did you mean by standard TAS?
