A Visit from JohnR, owner of Audio Circle
« on: 12 Aug 2008, 09:15 am »
Folks,

Today JohnR and I met up;  he'd come down to Melbourne from Sydney (the two biggest cities of Oz are 600 miles apart) for a few days holiday.

We had a long, pleasant chat and numerous coffees in a favorite cafe!   Here's a picture of the terrible two:

As you can see, I'm not getting any slimmer......

I have had the pleasure of hanging out with John a few times in the past (work brings me to Sydney) and I talked to Hugh a few times as well.

Definitely two very cool guys!   :thumb:

Hugh,

Why did you take him to the ‘runner up’ rather than the ‘winner’ of the TV restaurant competition.  http://www.thechoppingblocktv.com/Restaurant.aspx?eid=8&rid=15
Was it the cakes that swayed you?  At least you have removed ‘most’ of the evidence of any indulgence except ‘the grins’.  And why wasn’t I invited?  Some old ‘you were at work’ excuse I suppose.  Nice to see John though. :D

Hey Folks,

It was 1:30pm, too early for scotch, that was a glass of water......  We needed coffee and good cake!  In any event I can't handle alcohol, makes me feel terrible     (ask Gerado and LM).  And John doesn't drink much either.

It was a cold, rainy winters day and we were huddled by the heating unit, my God we needed those coffees!

Lyn, maybe Saturday week?  I'm off to South Oz on Friday night.

Thanks for all the well wishes!

Darn good coffee it was too  :thumb:

I really enjoyed Melbourne, haven't been there in over a decade (probably more like 15 years!). Apart from catching up with Hugh, I wandered around the city and enjoyed many impromptu encounters with art and architecture.
