The .7 are probably too new to get any consensus opinion, however I'm looking to get opinions about which way to go. Cost being close on both what would be the advantage of either speaker. I do have a small 8 inch sub and larger 10 inch sub I could use for either system. Would probably use my Redgum RGi60 ENR or an Arcam receiver to drive the speakers. Any opinions? Thanks,

What size room do you have?

Right now the room is 12 X 16 with 8ft ceilings. May later move my system to a slightly larger room. I generally do not listen to music loud. Most of the time its at low levels late at night.

I have the MMG’s in a 11’ x 15' room with no sub and they sound great even at higher
sound levels. I think the .7’s are double the price of the MMG’s if that makes a difference.

Figure keeping the speakers 4' out from the front wall and see where your listening position will be.
I'm guessing you'll have them on the shorter 12' wall.
If they're not going to be right on top of you I'd go big and look for some used 1.7s. 
Failing that, I'd go with the .7s and I should mention that any of them will benefit from a subwoofer in the corner as they'll peter out around 40 Hz, give or take.
