I need to convert an entire drive to .wav. Most of the files are w64 but some are .aiff and some are FLAC. Is there a program that will convert all at the same time?
I realize I may have to do small batches if the current formats are different.
I see many free programs offered but I have no way of knowing which ones work best. I would appreciate any experienced replies. My priority is the w64 files.
I have an external HDD drive which is a backup drive to my music server. I am getting an Aurender and need to convert. First I will convert to a new external drive then I will transfer the files to the Aurender.
This is going to be a horrible project. I have about 1.5TB of music which isn't a lot by some standards. But it is enough to be time consuming if I have to pick and choose small batches because of their current format.
I think I only need to convert the w64 files but formats are mixed on the backup drive. If a conversion program automatically skips non-w64 files in the mix I can work with that for now.

You can try Leawo Music Recorder I tried it but can't get it to work, conflict in software. It'll convert files to wav but not at CD quality. Another option that I know of is a Tascam Professional CD Recorder. But this will set you back a couple hundred bucks plus spools of CD-Rs. Plus you need to be able to connect to it which if you're using a computer maybe a problem but can easily be solved with a wireless bluetooth amp.
An ideal solution would be to save the converted files to a usb stick which you would need a few. An an external drive would work as well.
1.5 TB of music could take a life time, try to narrow it down to just your favorites. :smoke:

I use xact for batch audio file conversion. I can just drag a folder into the conversion window and it pulls all the audio files. It ignores other files in the folders (but does pop up a note that some files were ignored.) It reads through nested folders.
It has a setting to delete the original, so it would be easy to have a duplicate drive (keeping a spare of the original files), and letting it ingest the top-level folder and convert to WAV, deleting the originals as it goes. You would then have the same folder structure with WAV files in place of the original formats.

It is Mac only. What system are you using?

Looks like dBpoweramp will Batch Convert everything at once or just the format you pick
https://www.dbpoweramp.com/Help/dMC/FileSelector.htm (https://www.dbpoweramp.com/Help/dMC/FileSelector.htm)
A short thread how to make sure the folder.jpg gets moved too

Probably should do a small test first before turning it loose converting 1.5 TB

Thanks. I will definitely look into that. I just ordered the new drive so I can't do anything until I get it.

I do not see w64 listed (I do not mean .wav64).
https://www.dbpoweramp.com/Help/dMC/dMC.htm

W64 is listed under Additional Codecs:
https://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central.htm (https://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central.htm)
Wave64 Sony extension to the wave format [.w64]
Hover mouse pointer over Wave64, click and you will get to the Wave64 page and the link to download additional codec "Wave64 Release 2"
