I own a pair of Legacy Classics driven by Odyssey gear and a TubeDac+. Sounds truly amazing with everything I throw at it - quartets, symphony, jazz, rap, metal, female vocals, movies, low/high volume, etc.
Unfortunately, size of the speakers has become an issue and I'm thinking of moving to monitors (with a sub or two) on the wall or low on the floor angled up. I am pretty sure I can get around $1500 for my speakers (and cry for a month). So are there any monitors (can be up to 20" tall) and sub combo available around LA that can rival the Classics for up to $1,500?
A guy was selling Opera Mezza Mahogany monitors but refused to allow an audition. Thinking of giving Gallo Reference AV's a chance, but haven't seen them used for a while.
