Funkadelic - Maggot Brain

Eddie Hazel on guitar - brilliant! Very similar sound as when Pete Cosey goes full tilt on those live Miles recordings like Agharta. It wouldn't surprise me if Pete was listening to Maggot Brain just before he took the stage in Japan for the Agharta recording.

Oh, interesting! I know Cosey's work on live Agharta well but know nought about Hazel. Will investigate. Thanks!

W/ young saxophonist Azar Lawrence and guitarist Dominique Gaumont!

And as a public service announcement, I heard the below at a buddies house last month.
The remaster of Pangaea is incredible!!! Like hearing an entirely different record from that crappy COlumbia pressing. Entirely different. Pete Cosey fans take note, you'll hear finally hear Cosey playing that was lost/hidden under the Columbia grunge noise. Also the Gaumont cd is terrific and a fine complement to the Miles recording. Both worth the coin.
