Title: NYAS 2016
Post by: Vinnie R. on 7 Nov 2016, 05:06 pm
All,

I was not able to attend the NYAS 2016 last weekend, but I was fortunate to still have the LIO DHT Preamp and
VR120 Power Amp
at the show in the room also shared with Volti Audio, Triode Wire Labs, and Fidelis Music Systems.

Greg (Volti) was showing is new Rival horn loudspeakers, which use the same drivers as his Vittora model, but in
a different cabinet configuration and at 1/3 the price!  See:  http://voltiaudio.com/rival/ (http://voltiaudio.com/rival/)

Pete (TWL) took care of the cabling for the entire system:  http://www.triodewirelabs.com/triodeweb/ (http://www.triodewirelabs.com/triodeweb/)

Walter (Fidelis) brought an Acoustic Signature Triple X turntable: http://www.fidelisav.com/model/acoustic-signature-triple-x-turntable/
 (http://www.fidelisav.com/model/acoustic-signature-triple-x-turntable/)

From speaking with the gentlemen above, I learned that the show was very crowded and the rooms acoustically were troublesome with bass nodes and bleed through from other rooms, but overall they pulled off excellent sound and fun factor (lot's of music, libations, and of course their fun personalities that make me love doing shows with them).

This room was voted Top 3 at the show by Stereophile's Jana Dagdagan, here:

It was a comfort system; nostalgic, deep, and enveloping.

These three rooms were not only my personal sonic favorites, but also the rooms that I saw making the best attempt at creating an entertaining, accepting atmosphere for everyone.

Our room was also mentioned by Stereophile's Jim Austin:

My award for Most Surprising Sound goes to the Vinnie Rossi/Fidelis AV room, where the smaller (but still imposing) Volti Audio horn loudspeakers—the Rivals

Hopefully more to come!

Vinnie,

Based on the gear in the room, there was no doubt that it would sound very good and receive good press.

More importantly, are you a "new" dad yet?
