Title: Cherry amp for big JTRs (215RTs)
Post by: AmpDesigner333 on 2 Mar 2021, 09:34 pm
We are asked frequently about which amps would be best for JTR speakers, especially recently, as they have been gaining in popularity among audiophiles.

Well, for the BIG full range reference towers, the Noesis 215RT (link below), we recommend MEGAschino amps, either MEGA Stereo for those wanting fewer components or MONOs for those wanting simply the ultimate!  Cherry MEGAs easily peak over 1kWpc, even in the standard configuration, but for driving the 215s, we recommend quad rail capacitance.  The 215RTs go down to 18Hz, and the DC coupling of the MEGA is like a vice grip on those massive woofers!!  Imagine being able to play as loud as you'd ever desire, but the sound is still crystal clear and not stressed even a little -- no harshness, and massive, solid bass.

It's still possible to use smaller amps such as KING Maraschinos or even our newer 2-CHerry for a great system.  Both are 400Wpc into 4 ohms, so by "smaller" I didn't mean underpowered at all.  The wall of sound such a system can produce defies logic!  We've heard it before....  "Those little cubes do THAT?"  I'm currently driving a pair of 210RTs with a 2-CHerry, but more about that in a later post.
