Price Increases
« on: 29 Mar 2010, 12:24 am »
James;

In another topic a few weeks back you indicated that price increases were in the works starting April 1.  If memory serves me they were as much as 8% depending upon the component.  What are the increases for the B 100 and related options?

Thanks

Its very difficult for a manufacturer to offer a trade in program - at least this one. Where do you sell the trade-ins - what do you charge the customer - what about your dealers and distributors etc.
I know some companies do when they have excess stock of some products.

I suspect that many manufacturers who have a trade-in program take that program into account when pricing new products.  The may out with a $5k amp and knowing there will be a given amount of trade-ins increase the retail to $6k to account for that they expect in the way of trade-ins (i.e. if they are giving a trade-in at 25% of the price of a new amp).

James;

You could clear up some confusion for me. Am I correct in saying that the MM and DAC for the B100 is "user" installable or would it have to back to service.

It can be installed later but you have to remove the top cover.

Does my removing the top cover invalidate the warranty?

Quote from Bryston Service - "With the B100 the Dac or Phono board can be installed by the end user capable of using simple tools".

I knew there was a catch to this!

Depends upon if it's Creamy or Chunky!
