In addition to great sound, Vapor speakers are known for exotic wood veneers. Found these lamps and thought I'd post them here. Pretty cool but I don't think I'll be paying $600-$1,000 for a lamp.

I think Ryan would be AWESOME at building some lamps.  8)

Haha, great minds!

Ask Pete, I've had this idea for a couple years.  I just happened once to hold up a piece of Pelin Burl to a light and it just exploded in color.  My plan was to veneer some thin plexiglass and make squares that go into a grid frame, and backlight that.  I still plan on doing it someday.

Ryan, when you showed me that, it blew my mind.
One of these days, I'll get around to it as well.
Let's race to see who does it within the next couple years.

Sounds like a nice option to offer with the speakers in a matching veneer. I'm looking for some lamps to throw light on my Breeze to highlight the veneer. It would be pretty cool to have matching veneered lamps glowing from a light inside throwing an external light on the speakers.

I could do it, the trick is you have to veneer onto something transparent.  Veneer itself is too thin to be structural, so I could veneer plexiglass using epoxy (which is also clear).

Done deal! 2015 Axpona or RMAF? Would attract some additional good press.

Speakers are sounding fantastic. Diverse playlist tonight consisting of Hilton Ruiz, Donald Fagen, Mark Knopfler, Def Leppard and Nashville Pu**y.

Fresh keg of Deschutes Inversion IPA to top it off.

rather than spending money on exotic veneers, why not looking into Hexis wraps? they have lots of color variations, and they're cheaper than fancy veneers. I think my Nimbus look absolutely gorgeous with that carbon fiber finish. everybody that has seen them in person were really impressed with the appearance. and the sound too!
