I am basically wondering if reviews and other info for the 200s would apply to the expected sound of the 100s. Do they have enough design differences so it would not be useful to have expectations of the sound of the 100s based on the reviews I read on the more powerful model.

They sound very similar and use almost identical amplifier circuits. The primary difference is their power supplies.
