Now that looks like my kind of holiday.  Nobody around and lots of landscape to photograph. Those rock formations are really lovely.  #2 is the best photo IMHO.

Hello Nathan, the rock is known as The Old Man of Storr and is huge, really a very atmospheric place. Trotternish is the area of the north east part of Skye and is famous for it's rock formations. My friend has some more pictures but I spent as much time as possible enjoying the views rather than taking pics. I'm glad you enjoy them, cheers, Ben.

Another new toy - this time a 1972 Soviet FED 3 35mm rangefinder:

Great condition, including the leather case and original box for $50 shipped from the Ukraine.

It is, uses the screw mount lenses.  It's the cheapest of the various screw mount lens rangefinders - they made ~2 million of them.

Thanks Nathan.  I was just there early before everyone settled in. :)

Great shots - wish I was rich and retired so I could travel more (and take photographs)!

That Fed 3 looks really sweet too.

Got to do more shoots with my 5D mark2
I think the shadow detail is still noisy - maybe it's because i've been looking at Hasselblad H3 (31MP) files a bit too much.

Got the first pics back from the FED3.  Unfortunately I didn't notice the shutter hole before I started shooting, so all of the shots have a white spot on them.  It should be fixable and otherwise the shots look pretty decent.
