Whoa!!!   That's the truck that jump started my career.  Well built but a beast of a piece.  Gas engine severely underpowered.  But it got the job done.  I heard this is in a museum somewhere in Ohio.  Need to check that out.

Yes Bob it was A gas powered engine. There were no computers on board.  All mechanical controls.  I drove this beast from the east for ten years.

Any specs? Does it carry water?
Displacement, brand, transmission, gears?
Quite frankly, that's amazing to me.

Hi
A few more question to full fill the curiosity of many of us.
How much does it cost, where is it made, how many were made,
what's the maximum speed... ???

It carried a 50 foot boaster hose that held 100 gallons of water.  The ladder is used for A (master stream) of water.  We put a lot of fires out this truck.  The cost of this truck at the time was Eighty thousand US dollars.  I do miss her.  Max speed was how fast she would go down hill.  How many were made I don't know.  Transmission was a five speed.

The reason it only carried 100 gallons of water was because it had to carry 300 gallons of fuel!

Over here last night, the sky was clear and the full moon was bright. I was able to catch this image. Amazing to think that this "thing" is floating up there in space, let alone, circling around us each month. Come to think of it... it's amazing to think that we're floating around in space!

Nice moon pic.

Of course you realize it's not floating and we're not floating but falling fast as hell! :thumb:

Good shot.
When I see B&W photos of trains, it makes me think of O. Winston Link, the king of B&W train photography, in my opinion.
On my bucket list, is to purchase a quality print of his called "Hotshot Eastbound".
