Hi Russell and all Audio Circle members.
I like the picture with a bunch of little clouds puff...
I wonder if a polarizing filter would have given that picture
a more dramatic effect?
Anyway, with or without a pola filter, it's a nice picture,
please keep posting picture, I am sure we all like it.

I think it would have, and I'm considering getting a polarizing filter for just that purpose. My camera is the new Ricoh GR and there are not many accessories yet available for that, although I am looking into a magnetically attached polarizing filter.
I have fiddled a little with the contrast and brightness and re-sized the images, and I think it looks a little better now.
It's worth remembering they are basically snapshots from a moving vehicle without time taken for the fine points.

Hi Russell and all Audio Circle members.
I agree with you, when you do basically snap shoots you can't bring all the accessories to improve the pictures, that's why they are called:
Snap shoot.
I also carry a small point and shoot camera, just in case I will encounter a volcanic eruption or a earth quake or flooding or tornado or a meteorite striking earth...
Who knows what can happen, always have to be ready...

Very nice bowl.
It reminded me of this ceramic bowl I snapped at a local craft event:

The woodworker dropped off the bowl today.

The bowl was made with wood from a 35' Norfork Pine, that we cut down 7/12.

It started as a 3' live tree that served as our Christmas tree 12/88.

Taken with my cell phone

An expired locust Cicada sitting on the front steps of my office. Not only are these things butt-ugly, they make one gawd-awful racket when they are around.

Scott: That would be a Cicada NOT a Locust. Cool shot... and from your cell phone!? Butt ugly enough to look at it twice.  Din

Wow, nice shot from a cel phone. What kind of phone is that? Must be an "iMacro"

The last Google image looks more like a grasshopper.

Here's one of my favorite shots from a few years back:

It's from my Samsung Galaxy Note II. It's got an 8.3MP. Not too bad overall.

At work I take lots of pics and normally carry my little Canon P&S. Anymore and with the improvement of cell phone cameras, I'm using it more than 50% of the time. If this one proves to be reliable and does well in low light, I'll use it full time. Oh, I just upgraded and switched phone carriers yesterday from the HTC EVO I had through Sprint.

I'm liken' it so far :thumb:

Very nice shots from the Russell Dawkins group forward.  Thanks for sharing.

Curiosity begs, Scott, who's your new service provider?

My new service provider is AT&T. In St Louis, the outlying areas really, Sprint has rotten coverage when you compare the two. In my basement I could barely get a signal with Sprint.

Understood.  Started with Nextel.  Sprint bought 'em and coverage as well as service went south within months.  Next was AT&T but customer service left much to be desired.  Verizon now and liking them for the much better customer service.  That Leaves T-Mobile and Cellular One as yet untried.  Doubtful I will though as I've not heard much good about them in this area (semi-rural).

Oops...on with the posting of pictures!
