Very nice photo, Pete!  Where is that located?  Is that the herd off of Mt Vernon CC Drive?

(That's the only convenient herd I know of with ready shots of the divide in the background, but I can't say I've gone looking for them either.)

I wish I could take a camera into work... I drove right through the semi-resident elk herd to make my escape!

Hi PeteG and all Audio Circle members.
WOW, nice picture.
Even (me) living in exotic Vietnam don't have buffalo and porcupine here.
Lots of rats and dogs, but not a single buffalo and porcupine.

Pete,

That is a stuning photo, at least for my tastes. Can you make a high quality print of that in your shop? That would be sweet on the wall in my cave. :)

I actually have my prints done at Costco (cheap), just let me know what size you want.

Brian, it was taken at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal not far from Downtown Denver.

Nice.  I'd be interested in the Strobist setup info on this one.

Hi Jon L and all Audio Circle members.
The picture of my niece Tina (Nick name, real name Van Thao)
with the Chinese umbrellas as back ground was taken (At that time) with my Profoto flashes (ProAcute 1200) with either large umbrellas or large soft boxes (I’m not sure anymore)
Each light was positioned at about 45 degrees angle from the subject.
Light spilled on the back ground to make a hi-key lighting.
The left light was one stop lower than the right light.
I went on your Flicker site and you do have lots of nice pictures there and look as if we like to shoot about the same type of subjects.
The picture of the dog with the red t-shirt sleeping on the floor is one of me favorite.
That lighting is called lo-key, the same lighting as the picture of my wife reading a book.
The picture of the bird (Eagle?) should have been full length. (That’s constructive criticism, if you permit me.)
The picture of the stairs is really nice.
The picture of the dog lack depth of field.
The picture of the lady bug is the kind of picture,
I never had the chance to do, here in Vietnam;
there are more rats than lady bug.
May I know, if I am not too curious what is your equipment?
Camera, lenses, filters and flashes (Hot shoe or studio.)
For myself I have a Nikon D200 with an 18-55mm F/3.5 lens
and Nikon SB-600 hot shoe flash.
I also have a Sunpak hot shoe flash.
I also have two Mamiya body 645E (Medium format) with three lenses 45mm wide angle, 80mm normal, 120mm macro and 150mm short tele or portrait lens.
Two small cameras; one Nikon digital and one Olympus film.
For my improvised studio (In my listening room.) I borrow and use what I sell and those are:
Bowens (England), Daylite (Taiwan – I own three) and/or Falcon Eyes (Hong Kong – I own five) with soft boxes, umbrellas and all the necessary accessories to go with that.
I’ve been doing photography since I was 16 years old, I am now 65).
I started with my parent’s Kodak box camera and went to owning two large format Camera (Make: Cambo 4X5” sheet film)
But now most of my pictures are done with my Nikon D200, good enough for me.
Keep up the good work.

I took this picture to show how much snow we have. The snow is piled higher than the on-coming truck, at the side of the road with no place left to put it. Temperatures are not expected to be above freezing for another week.

Springtime in St. Louis.  That's chicken wire fencing around what will be my salad garden.  Amazing how snow can pile up on chicken wire.  Three more inches at least fell after I took this pic this morning.
