Has anyone compared the Purist and the Odyssey Tempest with an Odyssey amplifier?  I have the Purist in my system now and I’m very pleased with its performance.  I have not had a chance to audition the Tempest, but I’m curious how it would stack up to the Purist with my Extreme mono blocks.

there was a review done with both of those included.  if i remember right, they said the tempest was more musical than the purist.   they liked the tempest better.    i think the tempest is $999, whereas, the purist is $665.

Of course it's all subjective and each opinion reflects the total system, personal taste, and is sometimes influenced by what a person currently owns.

We have heard it both ways on many different preamps, not just the one mentioned here. All part of the hobby.
