I guess you would probably want to be listening about 15 degrees off axis.

First time I see a fiberglass cone, the 3 suggested enclosures are sealed.
The freq start to rise away from the musical range, the piano higher note are 4186Hz, a well made internal stuff will lower it.

It's some cone breakup plus some beaming. Probably they are allowing the center of the dust cap to flop a little to act like a tweeter. Actually the FR looks pretty good compared to many FR drivers. FR are intended to be listened off axis, which filters out the beaming highs.

Cone breakups will appear in the impedance line.

I bought a pair of these. They are well made and initial testing does not reveal any strange character.
I intended to put them on an enclosure I already have, but the existing hole is too big for this driver. Anyone has a recommendation for suitable enclosure?
It has a high Qts of 0.92, and what I've learned so far suggests that suitable options are either sealed or aperiodic enclosure. Some suggests mass-loaded transmission line (MLTL). Any thoughts please? Thanks.

I should use a bigger enclosure and lots of car hood brown stuffing to more bass.
Suggested Enclosure
1.5 liters sealed and stuffed for F3 of 99 Hz
2 liters sealed and stuffed for F3 of 97 Hz
3 liters sealed and stuffed for F3 of 94 Hz

SBA also have other similar 4'' FR driver with neutral sound alu cone with recommended 5.6L enclosure that can down to 50Hz.

I played around with WinISD and found the following, all sealed and stuffed:
10 liters, Qtc 0.99, F3 75.8Hz (Golden Ratio: 348*215*133mm enclosure)
5 liters, Qtc 1.034, F3 77.5Hz (Golden Ratio: 276*171*106mm enclosure)
3 liters, Qtc 1.089, F3 80.9Hz (Golden Ratio: 233*144*89mm enclosure)
I kinda think a wide and shallow golden ratio will look good, with mirror-image driver placement slightly off center. Also hoping it will help with diffraction.
At the same time, the dimension for the 5 liter sim above is similar to various folded TL designs for FF85WK, for example. I know the two drivers have different specs, but would you think it's possible to sim a folded TL for the SB10?
What do you think? :)

The software have to offer the option of TL calc, not sure what are the ideal TL driver requirements, hobbists mostly used Morel drivers to TL floorstanders.

This 3 inch SB Acoustics driver has typical small driver inefficiency with lack of bass and ultimate output. Best used for desktop applications. TL application would be an exercise in frustration. Note that most TL drivers have Qts of around 0.4, not 0.9 (which indicates open baffle use, but would produce no bass and have very limited output in-room).
The 4 inch driver is a smidge better, but still apparently designed for desktop or small room use.

would you think it's possible to sim a folded TL for the SB10?
With a Q as high as the 3” have, a midTweeter, or possibly the Frugel-Horn Lite, the cabinet dominates so they should work. Same with the 4” in FH3.
A TL would likely need to be aperiodic (or close), or have a bump at the bottom.
Another driver brand i haven’t tried. the brand has a good rep.

Golden ratio enclosures always good, it dismiss the use of internal bracing, mirror image also good, but even the mentioned 10L enclosure goes only to 75Hz what is too discreet bass performance to a satisfactory listening, hence this I would go with the Frugal Horn as Suggested by Dave, in second place a even bigger Bass Reflex box to additional bass reinforcement.
Seems the SB12 can delivery more bass(Fs 52Hz) than the SB10 Fs89, Iam thinking in fullrange use no subwoofer.

Hello, no worries, and thanks for your recommendations.
After further consideration, it seems 10L golden ratio will not work for the intended space. Further, I see not much change between 4-5L and 8-10L in terms of Qtc and frequency response. So I might just go with the smaller volume. In the future I am planning to add midbass, crossed over at the line level, passive or active is still to be decided. :)

Have just see Madisound placed this SB Acoustics SB12PAC25-4 in the woofers section, its response start to fall around 170/180Hz :scratch:

I found a similar issue with FE85's and a bit of glypt on the dustcap and seam did wonders. A little less top end, and lowered the Fs a hair, but worthwhile for me. Eventually, I gave in and added a tweeter.
Might be a very worthwhile midrange though. If I do another, I want to get the crossover out of the midrange. A "wide band" (sure glad folks are not saying full range) has considerable promise as most mids are too low efficiency. Think Wideband with sub and super-tweeter instead of traditional 3-way.
