little word on a blue-ray player please

 :D thinkin of buyin a Oppo 83 blue-ray player.don't care bout' the best of the best.but was wondering if this was still a good buy.???? any help thks. [just got a  a Pioneer Elite 33 BDP with the ht package and can compare the two....] :D :D

The BDP-83 is still an excellent player. However, Oppo has announced the 93 ads a replacement for the 83 and it will sell for the same $499 price. I haven't seen any reviews on it yet, but given my experience with Oppo, I have no doubt the 93 will be an excellent player, as well.
