After missing a couple of years, I am all set to attend this year. I am on the prowl for a gear as well. :eyebrows:
I am calling all Audio Circle members: who is attending and who is showing?
P.S. Made a reservation at the Shanahan's for Sat at 7. RSVP if you want to join me in toasting a few to the late Chairguy.
P.S.S. Tyson, I owe you a dinner.
-
I would love to come but have other obligations... I don't need any more equipment and I would be hoisting coffee :D
Have fun!
Doug
-
I'll be going :) No show reporting from me & Jason this year so I'll have time to chill/relax and enjoy the show.
-
See you folks at the show!
-
Coming in Thursday evening, leaving Sunday AM.
-
Arrive Friday morning and leaving Monday morning.
-
Arriving Thursday evening and leaving Sunday morning. Look forward to seeing everyone after missing last year. Last year was the only year I have missed since 2005.
-
Am heading that way on the Thurs, returning Sunday. Happy to connect with fellow AC'ers present...

+1. Shall we have a carnation in our teeth or something or will our inner AC glow be enough for recognition?

Jim Romeyn and I will be there, Room 2014, which show director Marjorie Baumert has designated as an "Innovation Room".
The mandate for an Innovation Room is, we're suppose to be very visitor-friendly, which includes accepting music requests as much as time and technology allow, being open to and answering all questions as best we can, and hopefully offering some educational value rather than just promoting our cool new toys.
The topic we hope to educate about is, the psychoacoustic implications of reflections in small rooms. We'll do this largely by handing over the remote and letting listeners toggle between two different loudspeaker modes, one of which is "normal", and the other we'll call "enhanced" for now, so that this post doesn't become too wordy. I think we'll be able to demonstrate some principles that will be applicable to small rooms in general.

Awesome Duke! I look forward to seeing you there.
I'll be there in room 7032. AudioThesis will be representing MastersounD, North Star Design, and Rosso Fiorentino. Lorenzo from MastersounD and Jessica from North Star Design will be flying in from Italy to help answer any questions about their gear.

Thank you Skip! Looking forward to seeing you there and meeting Lorenzo and Jessica. Very cool that you have company representatives flying in from Italy.
That room you're in, 7032, it's a really nice one. The little alcove is what makes it so good - improves the sound isolation relative to the outside world, and provides a place for one of you to have a semi-private conversation with a few people while someone else runs the room. Sometimes the voices in the alcove get too loud for the listeners, but it's even worse in a "normal" room where you have no alcove.
-
I will be there. Looking forward to seeing everyone. :)
I volunteer every year, this time I'll be manning the $1,500 room on Sunday morning. Stop by and say hi.
-
We joined late, but with a room we're happy to be part of. We'll be in room 1002 with Fern & Roby on the turntable and phono, our preamp and amp, and DeVore Fidelity Orangutans. Black Cat cables, I believe, will be cabling. We're bringing a ZOTL40 and a ZOTL10; we'll see which sounds better.
We won't be at the CanJam, but you might catch an MZ2 at the ZMF or MrSpeakers tables, depending on whether they have room for it.
-
I will try to stop by on Sunday, when all the systems have been tuned in.
Once again, RMAF takes place the same time as the Great American Beer Festival.
I will be busy with various events during the week, but if any of you have the time, try to stop by Station 26 Brewing Co on your way in or out of town.
If any of you might be interested in heading out for some beers, here is a list of what is going on in Denver that week.

I'm on the same schedule you are on Woodsyi. Haven't been for a few years. Looking forward to seeing the crew and wandering the show instead of having to watch a room all weekend.

Audio by Van Alstine will be at RMAF sharing a display room with the fantastic Alta loudspeakers.
We will be introducing a brand new remote control preamp in two versions. The Fet Valve CFR pure tube preamp and the Vision SLR Class A discrete solid state preamp.
Both have remote volume, remote on and off, and remote source selection. Both also have stereo-mono, low gain, high filter, and low filter functions. Both have refined audio circuits better and quieter than ever.
We will also feature our new DAC MK FIVE which has two coax, two optical, and USB inputs. The new DAC plays PCM up to and including 192/24 and DSD 64 and 128 interchangingly, seamlessly, and glitch free.
We will also have a VPI turntable with Soundsmith cartridge for vinyl lovers to showcase our awesome new Vision Q phono preamp.
Anitcables is supplying us with all the high quality cables for all the equipment connections and we will have a PS Audio line conditioner too. Mojo is supplying a custom reworked Apple computer upgraded as our digital music source.
Meet us in room 7024 of the tower, one of the bigger rooms, see you there and expect sonic bliss.

Frank - This is October. They should have given you a room number by now.

See above, room 7024. Did not have that info handy when writing post above at 6 am on my iPad before office computers were on. Fixed now.

Thanks.

It would be good to see you. If the Pint Brothers Bar (Is this formerly Lift bar?) ain't hopping on Friday, I may take an Uber out to you. How long a drive is your bar to the hotel?
-
After attending RMAF for the last five years, I will be taking a break this year. I am having second thoughts about my decision...
-
Yup, also taking a break, busy with a move.
-
Already here. See you folks soon!

Any impressions thus far?
Anybody been in the ELAC Adante room yet? Spatial?
-
The spatial audio x2's sounded nice with the Rossi LIO.

ELAC Adante sound really nice... imo you could spend multiples the price of the Adantes and end up with a speaker that isn't as good. The tweeter is a bit laid back compared to the Be domes and ribbons, it might be a bit on the forgiving side which is probably a good thing at the price as most won't spend way more than the speakers on electronics. Also, most of the speakers with Be dome or nice ribbons the same size are at least double the price, for example the new Revels were a couple notches better but 2x the price.

Floorstanders.
The ELAC Dolby Atmos demo next door was pretty impressive too, $4200 for all speakers + subs...

Anyone go to room 2014?
Along with the stuff mentioned, Ciunas Audio is there and wondered how it sounds

That’s on (the 2nd floor) on my agenda today

Another curiosity of mine is the Paradigm Persona speakers. These are supposed to compete with the big boys and have all beryllium drivers. If anybody has a chance to peek in there let us know.

Really good! Best value of the show and there were a lot of excellent high value speakers there... I'd choose them over the ELAC Adante. The AudioKenisis speakers now have compression drivers with beryllium diaphragms and they sound really nice, much clearer and more extended. The bass was also excellent, very clean and low distortion. It's hard to tell exactly what the electronics are contributing but they were obviously doing a good job.

Do you have a Sonore ultraRendu? I noticed Ciunas had their power supply on the ultra for this room. I've heard good things about them and makes me interested in trying their ISO-PS on my ultraRendu.

Very clean sound but they did not pull you into the music. Almost sterile. Still very clean.

They did sound good but a bit on the dark side for me, the tweeter was also too low imo.
