- I have provided my listening impressions.  It makes no difference as to which driver I prefer, only which driver you prefer.  Do your own experimenting.

- Other than vocal music, the other general type that I do not listen to is large scale works.  The older I get, the more I veer away from the artificial restraints of the traditional requirements of melody, harmony, and rhythm.   As the late great guitarist Derek Bailey called it, Non-Idiomatic Music.    Here is an example  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rY6wbSXH92I   If that 50 minute video is too much for a first immersion, try this 8 minute video of Olaf Rupp on acoustic guitar  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eq23zH5Kqss   and this 20 minute one of Olaf Rupp on electric guitar with Rudi Fischerlehner on drums   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4z_pFiKH1RQ

- FYI, here is a very good article on loudspeaker placement, written specifically for speakers with waveguides, that I have found useful for non-waveguide speakers  http://libinst.com/PublicArticles/Setup%20of%20WG%20Speakers.pdf
Thks for spending the time to write a lengthy response.

This is a Weems Pipe made with a sheet of plywood,Vifa 6.5 coax, Danish and rubber surround, 25 bucks,a clearance at Parts Express, JoAnn's fabric for speaker grills. I put some egg crate on the bottom, stuffed them with acoustic wool stuff, can't remember the name. I'm half Danish so with nothing to do I got some painters tape out and made a flag.....they sound awesome and I hooked them up with a Titanic subwoofer and BASH amp....Mark Korda

Thank you. Sure, here is the link with cutaway drawings, information on design notes, and pricing. The drivers are the Lii Audio Silvers. My friend and speaker designer, and builder Jon Anderson built these. He has built almost every speaker I have owned for many years now.

You beat me to it. Yes the plans were purchased and two sets were built. One set is unfinished and for sale, or can be finished in any veneer desired if anyone is interested.I had it done this way as I feel the overall finish and quality is better than what is offered from Decware. It's just my personal preference.

I'm in a Cobalt kind of mood lately.... cobalt/M4 Magnequest TFA-2004JR parallel feed output transformers, M4 EXO-003 plate chokes, Magnequest filament chokes, Mundorf and Auricap coupling caps, Cardas posts and jacks, and meters for good measure.

Sofia Electric Princess 300b mesh plates at 2.5v sounds great with the Lii Audio Silver 8's in the Decware HDTv2 cabinets.

Just finished these a couple of weeks ago. The 8" alnico's on top were harvested from a Zenith console. They are the best sounding of my other 8" drivers including Lowther DX3's, Tang Band 1808's, and Pioneer BoFu's. They look and perform like larger versions of the Coral Holey Basket. The 10 inch bass woofers were close outs from Parts Express. They sold like hot cakes due to their OB friendly high Qts. I power the Zeniths with a 2a3 SET amp and the woofers with an Aiyima AO7 using Fmods on its inputs.

The 8" Zeniths next to my Lii Audio F-15's over Eminence Alphas. My OB journey has taken me from tall and wide baffles to a more room friendly size.

They look and perform like larger versions of the Coral Holey Basket.

And given the basket, it looks like a Coral so they could well be the OEM.

The Zenith's bass augmentation pictured earlier was not to my satisfaction so I replaced the four 10" woofers with two 16" Sansui woofers and oh what a difference. This is by far the best sound I've had in my garage. After trying several flea watt amps I'm sticking with a APPJ/Miniwatt S-1 to power the Zeniths.
